OUR CHURCH LEADERSHIP
Meet our pastors and leadership team
Emily Swan is the lead pastor and Daniel Reaume is the Pastor of Community Life at Blue Ocean Church Ann Arbor. Our official leadership also includes the rest of our pastoral team (Diane, Molly, Marcus, and Liz) and our church board.
In practice, most of the leaders in our church community aren’t listed here—individuals leading worship, prayer, small groups, youth, logistics, outreach and more. We’re a church that invites everyone to participate and serve and lead where they can.

DANIEL REAUME | PASTOR OF COMMUNITY LIFE
Born in Alaska and raised in Southeast Michigan, Daniel has been actively involved in church ministry since 2011. Throughout that time, he has served in a variety of ministry roles in both congregational and parachurch settings as well as grass-roots ecumenical organizing, church planting, and faith-based advocacy work.
Prior to pastoral ministry, Daniel worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic. He received a B.A.S from Siena Heights University and an M.Div. from Ashland Theological Seminary where he completed his master’s thesis in political ecclesiology, exploring the intersection of Anabaptist and Black Liberation theologies and their relevance for the modern Church in America. While at ATS, he also worked with the facility on a multi-year research project studying faith disaffiliation among Gen-Z and Millennial Evangelicals—a topic he is especially passionate about. In his free time, he enjoys reading, writing, playing piano, hiking, and spending time with his friends and family.
