The Christmas season ends on January 6th with the celebration of Epiphany. On this day we remember the story of Herod, an insecure king, who was visited by magi from the east with news of a new king who reigns with righteousness and justice. Herod may rule for a day, but the magi promise us that a new day is dawning. This is the good news of Epiphany.
