In Luke 14, Jesus responds to the crowds in a surprising way: If you want to be my disciple, be prepared to give up everything. What feels like a harsh reaction is actually an impassioned invitation: If you’re looking for the world to change for the better, come follow me. It won’t always be easy but it will certainly be worth it.
