Wilderness tales often include tests of character in the Bible; it’s probably clearest in Jesus’s story. In the wilderness God realized he could trust Jesus to use his authority and influence with integrity. The manifestation of this trust is illustrated in the Palm Sunday story, with Jesus riding a nursing donkey into the city.
